Heather B. Seith, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist. She has a special interest in treating patients suffering from macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and advanced glaucoma.
Dr. Seith graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Yale University with honors in her major of biology and neuroscience. She was recognized with a Clarence W. Mendell Award. Dr. Seith continued her medical education at Albert Einstein School of Medicine, while there she coauthored Cancer Metastatic to the Orbit: the 2000 Robert M. Curts Lecture working with Dr. Jerry Sheilds and And Dr. Carol Sheilds of Wills Eye Hospital. Dr. Seith performed her internship at Jersey Shore Medical Center and completed her ophthalmology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She completed a medical retina and medical glaucoma fellowship at the East Florida Eye Institute.
Dr. Seith has received patient care awards including the Polaris Recognition Award for patient service. She has presented her research multiple times at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology and has worked on many clinical research projects. Dr. Seith has lectured to other eye professionals on topics including clinical research, retinal eye disorders, glaucoma, and patient safety issues for eye professionals.
Dr. Seith maintains memberships in the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Seith is dedicated to providing unparalleled quality of care and compassion to the patients of Sibia Eye Institute. She was born and raised in New Jersey and enjoys spending time with her young son in the Florida sunshine.
